Relai Becomes a Regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP)

Regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP)
We are excited to announce that Relai has become a regulated Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in Switzerland, allowing us to provide Bitcoin brokerage and digital currency exchange services to customers in Switzerland and Europe.

As a member of the Financial Services Standards Association (VQF), we can now directly exchange euros (EUR) and Swiss francs (CHF) for bitcoin (BTC) and vice versa.

The VQF membership was acquired as part of our plans to build an in-house broker to cease reliance on third-party exchanges for trade execution. With our own brokerage capabilities, we will be able to provide efficient order processing, instant purchases, and new offerings for investors who are looking to buy larger amounts of Bitcoin.

Julian Liniger, Co-Founder and CEO at Relai, commented:

“We are excited to be one of the few Swiss bitcoin startups who are members of VQF, allowing us to build Europe’s leading bitcoin brokerage platform. With our own broker, we will be able to set competitive fees, increase order efficiency, and build new products and services for our users. Additionally, thanks to the openness of the Swiss financial market authorities, we can show our users, partners, and investors that we are a competent and trustworthy fintech company.”
