Big news: Relai accounts for users residing in the EU are moving from Switzerland to the EU. If you’re one of them, you’ll benefit from faster transactions, higher limits, and a more transparent buying experience.
Here’s what’s changing and what you need to do.
Some users have already upgraded their Relai accounts. For everyone else, it will be possible in the coming days.
Why the switch?
Thanks to our EU license under MiCA, obtained in late 2025, we can now offer users in the EU a significantly improved Bitcoin experience. Moving your Relai account to the EU comes with real benefits you’ll notice right away.
Important: If you’re a Swiss Relai user, nothing changes for you. You can keep using Relai exactly as you’re used to.

With your EU account, you’ll have access to significantly higher buy and sell limits. This gives you more flexibility to invest and put larger amounts into Bitcoin. No workarounds needed. You’ll see your final price immediately when placing an order. No surprises, no discrepancies. This way, you can precisely buy the dip. Even when the market is volatile and prices are fluctuating.

What’s actually changing?
As part of the transition, our banking details are changing. After the upgrade, you’ll see a new EU IBAN in the Relai app, and all future payments will need to be sent to this new IBAN.
This applies to both one-time buy orders and your existing recurring Auto Invest orders.

Some users have already been able to move their Relai account to the EU. For everyone else, it will be available in the coming days. Once it’s your turn, you can upgrade directly in the Relai app.
How the transition works
The entire process is simple and only takes a few minutes:
- If not already available, your account will be ready for the upgrade in the coming days.
- Once it’s ready, you can complete the move directly in the Relai app.
- After that, you’ll see your new EU IBAN in the app.
- During a transition period, deposits to the old Swiss IBAN will automatically be forwarded to your new EU account.
- After the transition period ends, deposits to the old IBAN will automatically be refunded.

What do you need to do?
If you’ve set up a standing order or recurring transfer with the old IBAN, update it to the new IBAN as soon as possible after the upgrade.
Don’t worry: During the transition period, your deposits will still go through. But make the switch soon so everything continues to run smoothly.
